HAMi Enterprise 2.10.0-r3

This page records changes from HAMi Enterprise v2.10.0-r2 to v2.10.0-r3. The resource-pool management component and CRDs are packaged in separate Charts and are not installed automatically by the main Chart.

ItemVersion
Enterprise release date2026-10-08
Main Chart hami-enterprise2.10.0-r3
Main Chart appVersion2.10.0-r3
Optional CRD Chart hami-enterprise-crds0.4.2, appVersion: 0.4.0
Optional resource-pool manager Chart hami-resource-pool-manager0.0.6, appVersion: 0.0.2

Software changes

  • Hygon HCU resource-name migration: The scheduler and device configuration migrate from dcu resources and annotations to hcu. The default names change from hygon.com/dcunum, hygon.com/dcumem, and hygon.com/dcucores to hygon.com/hcunum, hygon.com/hcumem, and hygon.com/hcucores. The old names are not automatic aliases. Update existing Pod specifications, custom device configuration, and device plugins together.
  • Cambricon full-card scheduling: Adds a full-card request path using cambricon.com/mlu while retaining virtual-resource paths such as cambricon.com/vmlu for sMLU. The scheduler selects a mode based on the resource capabilities reported by each node. A container cannot request full-card and virtual resources at the same time. The corresponding Cambricon device plugin still performs the actual device allocation.
  • Optional resource-pool support for Hygon: The standalone resource-pool manager adds resource-pool ownership and quota accounting for Hygon HCU devices. Use it with the matching manager image and HCU device configuration. Resource-pool quotas do not replace device memory or compute-capacity checks.

Chart changes

  • Hygon resource keys: The main Chart's top-level dcuResourceName, dcuResourceMem, and dcuResourceCores settings are replaced by hcuResourceName, hcuResourceMem, and hcuResourceCores. Migrate overrides and verify that the scheduler, device plugin, and workloads use the same resource names.
  • Ascend vNPU soft-partition count: Adds devices.ascend.vnpuDeviceSplitCount, defaulting to 10, to configure the number of vNPU soft partitions when a node does not specify a count. A positive node-level vDeviceCount takes precedence; templates still determine hard partitions. This requires an Ascend device plugin that supports the field. Updating only the main Chart does not change partitioning behavior in an older plugin.
  • Standalone resource-pool manager Chart: The default image in version 0.0.6 changes to ghcr.io/dynamia-ai/resource-pool-manager:v0.0.2, fixing the previous Chart's outdated main-image default. Device toggles are now devices.nvidia.enabled, devices.ascend.enabled, and devices.hygon.enabled; TLS settings are now webhook.tls.certManager and webhook.tls.certgen. Migrate overrides for hami.ascendEnabled, top-level certManager, and patch; they cannot be reused unchanged.

Upgrade notes

  • Coordinate the Hygon resource migration first: Verify that the target device plugin registers hygon.com/hcu* resources, then upgrade the scheduler and device configuration and update workload YAML, resource quotas, annotations, and custom values that use the old dcu names. The old and new resource names, node handshakes, and allocation annotations differ. A mixed-version rolling upgrade has not been verified as a compatible combination; schedule recreation of affected workloads during an appropriate maintenance window.
  • Enable the new Ascend partition setting: Confirm that the Ascend device plugin supports vnpuDeviceSplitCount, then set it according to node vNPU capacity and workload requirements. This field affects soft partitioning only and does not automatically change existing Pods.
  • Upgrade the resource-pool manager: Upgrade the standalone Chart and manager image together. Migrate values if you previously overrode the old device switches or webhook certificate settings. Resource-pool management still requires Kubernetes 1.30 or later and the extender scheduling path rather than DRA. Validate the actual Hygon multi-card topology and allocation behavior on target hardware.

Obtain packages and images through the agreed delivery channel. See the Chart and appVersion mapping.
